Pair bright Seyval Blanc with savory flavors

The savory broth in my chicken and rice soup is elevated by the bright acidity in Seyval Blanc from Blumenhof Winery in Missouri. Blumenhof proudly crafts all-Missouri wines in the small hamlet of Dutzow. A small, family-owned winery, three generations of the Blumenberg family are involved in producing its award-winning wines. All of its wines are made from locally-grown grapes, sourced from their own vineyards and a select group of independent growers dedicated to producing exceptional grapes.

Seyval Blanc is a French-American hybrid grape that makes a dry to semi-dry, clean, crisp medium-bodied wine with an herbal, fresh flavor. When it is barrel fermented, it can take on an oak complexity indicative of Chardonel.
