Matt made a lasting impression on EarthDance Farms, the oldest organic farm west of the Mississippi

For five years, Matt Lebon was the farm manager at EarthDance Organic Farm School in Ferguson, Missouri. EarthDance is a non-profit with a unique mission: to not only grow organic produce, but to teach others how to farm and launch their own farm-based organic businesses. This allows the school’s mission and philosophy to grow exponentially, as students strike out on their own to apply their newly acquired knowledge.

At EarthDance, Matt was involved in just about every aspect of running the farm, leading classes, hosting events and generally ensuring that the 14-acre farm operated smoothly. He built a permaculture pear orchard that is a perennial testament to the impact he had on this unique institution, which is dedicated to engaging the community while it also trains the next generation of organic farmers.
