Puchta Family History
Parker Puchta's fourth great grandfather, Adam Puchta, arrived in Hermann in 1839 along with the first waves of German immigrants to settle this region along the Missouri River.
The Germans chose this spot because of its similarity to the Rhineland, and soon, wineries, including Adam Puchta Winery, sprung up in the area's rolling hills. Founded in 1855, Adam Puchta Winery is today, the nation's oldest continuously family farmed winery, with the seventh generation at the helm.
