Iconic Cocktail Co. owners Kaylee and Matt produce small-batch cocktail mixers that live up to their name. These mixers, in flavors like Lime Leaf Tonic and Salted Cocoa Nib, are made with all-natural ingredients and are designed to encourage creative mixing at home.

Based in Phoenix, Iconic uses local ingredients (hello, prickly pear!) to create mixers that are cocktail ready and are also ideal in non-alcoholic beverages -- add a bit of that Salted Cocoa Nib or some of their Spiced Honey Mixer to your coffee and it will change your morning routine. If you check out their site, it's full of helpful hints on what to pair with each of their mixers along with an extensive recipe collection.

I have a cabin out in the Ozarks and one evening, I was in the mood for a cocktail, so I opened up a bottle of Iconic's Prickly Pear Sour mix that I had squirreled away in my suitcase after our Phoenix Meet the Makers event. I happened to have a bottle of Missouri-made Pinckney Bend barrel-aged gin and a lime on hand, so I made the Pricky Rickey recipe that's right there on the bottle.

Super easy. Just two-parts gin to one-part mixer and a squeeze of lime. The cocktail was a shockingly pink fuchsia, which was really fun, but the flavor is what will keep me coming back to this mixer, and this brand. The mixer was well balanced -- fruity and not-too-sweet with the right amount of tart to enhance the gin, which, because it was aged, had a mellow character that most gins lack.

I have some excellent tequila I've yet to open, and that's what I plan to try next: Iconic's Prickly Pear Margarita (I've pasted the recipe below for your convenience). Being a gin lover, I want to get my hands on their Lime Leaf Tonic too — it has a bit of quinine and citric acid playing off the distinct flavor of makrut lime leaves, which are used extensively in Thai cuisine.

We are proud to offer Iconic Cocktail Co.'s quality mixers in the Makers Marketplace -- when you mix up a cocktail with one of their products, be sure to tag us so we can raise a glass with you and share in the love of local products.

Cheers,

Cat
